OrangeBoy Launches SmartyCat for Libby to Automate and Target eBook and eAudiobook Content to Library Patrons
Columbus, OH - OrangeBoy, Inc., provider of the Savannah software-as-a-service customer intelligence and data analytics platform, has launched SmartyCat for Libby, an automated messaging solution to promote libraries’ Libby ebook and e-audiobook collections and curated lists with targeted emails to library patrons.
SmartyCat for Libby is an expansion of OrangeBoy’s current SmartyCat service, launched in 2022, which automates content about library programs into email messaging templates in Savannah from the library’s event calendar software.
This new service automates email messages based on a Curated List API from OverDrive that connects with the library’s Libby collection and auto-populates a messaging template in Savannah.
“We are excited to continue meeting the needs of public libraries with this new enhancement,” stated Josh Feasel, president of OrangeBoy. “This service has endless applications, including automating curated content about Libby digital collections as well as sending out automated genre-specific digital content to interested audiences,” he added.
OrangeBoy partnered with several U.S. libraries, including Columbus Metropolitan Library, to serve as beta clients, consulting on requirements and testing the new service. “We have seen usage of our digital collections continue to grow,” said Gregg Dodd, Director of Marketing and Communications. “As a current Savannah user, we are excited about this new functionality that allows the library to increase patron communication in thoughtful and meaningful ways without adding additional staff time.”
